Who Are We?

The Episcopal Foundation of Northern California (EFNC) was established as a nonprofit corporation in 1983. It is an institution of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Northern California and is subject to the provisions of its Constitution and Canons.

The Board of Directors is composed of the Bishop, the chancellor and up to 9 elected members, representing congregations throughout Northern California. The Board, as a Committee of the Whole, sets policy for the Foundation and acts on recommendations of the Board Committees: Executive, Planning, Evaluation, and Nominating, Promotion & Education, and Finance. From 1992 to 2010, The Foundation has facilitated gifts totaling $36,114,900.00. Of these, 75.18% have benefited Churches, 14.46% the Diocese, 7.78% Diocesan Institutions, 2.58% outside the Diocese.
