The Rev. Canon Julie Wakelee

The Rev. Julia (Julie) Wakelee is a native of Ventura, Ca., and, other than five exciting years in Washington, D.C., has lived all her life in various corners of this beautiful state.

Ordained to the priesthood by The Rt. Rev. Chester Talton in January 2004 in the Diocese of Los Angeles, she spent four action-packed years as Associate Rector at St. Luke’s, Long Beach. Trained as an interim minister, she served Church of the Epiphany, San Carlos (Diocese of California), and then enjoyed a decade as rector at St. Alban’s, Albany, Ca. Following two decades work in non-profits and higher education, she received an M.Div. from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 2003, and an MA in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union the following year.

Julie enjoys running, swimming, gardening, watching baseball, playing board games with family and friends, knitting, hiking, most sports involving water, and visiting and serving on the board of Ring Lake Ranch, in the beautiful Wind River Valley of Wyoming
